Anni Albers: Tate Modern: December 2018: 5/10

Tate claims that Albers was an artist who changed weaving and a weaver who changed art, I’m not competent to conclude on the first claim but I’m sure the second isn’t true. However, I did enjoy the show and it does challenge you look at weaving as art. Note that her work is far from the exuberance of textile art as it is constrained by the geometric. In short this was an underwhelming show for an art gallery.  This is borne out by the fact that many of my images are of designs and other peoples' work.  The Meso-American work on show as particularly stunning.
