Anni Albers: Tate Modern: December 2018: 5/10

claims that Albers was an artist who changed weaving and a weaver who changed
art, I’m not competent to conclude on the first claim but I’m sure the second
isn’t true. However, I did enjoy the show and it does challenge you look at
weaving as art. Note that her work is far from the exuberance of textile art as
it is constrained by the geometric. In short this was an underwhelming show for
an art gallery. This is borne out by the
fact that many of my images are of designs and other peoples' work. The Meso-American work on show as
particularly stunning.
