Sterling Ruby: Gagosian Gallery: October 2019: 2/10

I'm sure that this is expensive work and I suppose that the dealership is doing well as Gagosian galleries seem to be popping up around the world like mushrooms in an autumn woodland. So they must know their market and this stuff must sell.  Mind you the gallery, a milieu of privilege and wealth, is stuck in a time-warp: it has three young women at their computers and five black suited male security guards minding the work. You would imagine that even a polished turd would look good in this framing however this Ruby's efforts are so weedy that it wilts under the gaze of the sceptical.
